What good is voting for a “better contrast” from Obama and Romney (who themselves have many contrasts between them) if that contrast won’t win? Isn’t the point of voting to try and make someone win? If it’s just a principled vote, there’s no point in voting since there will be no outcome but a bad one. If it’s just a principled vote, don’t vote; just know in your head that you have principles, feel good about yourself (the acknowledged purpose of voting on principle), and stay home on Election Day.
