Science is incredibly dynamic. Years ago scientists thought the planet to be flat, but that was replaced with round. Science changes. Had a more accurate, scientifically correct theory to evolution come along, we would have long since abandoned evolution in favor of this new theory.

Long before scientists declared the Earth to be flat, the Bible declared it to be spherical.
