Anonymous asked: Romney wants to cut taxes for all. Which would cost the gov. 5 trillion over 10 years. He wants to pay for it by reducing tax deductions. Is this correct or no? I don't know what to believe...
Half correct. It won’t cost the government $5 trillion. Tax cuts increase revenue. Reagan’s did, and Bush’s tax cuts brought the government RECORD levels of revenue. The reason there was a recession, though, is (in part) because SPENDING was too high. We were spending more than we were taking in, and the spending was unnecessary. So Romney also wants to drastically cut spending (to prevent us from continuing on the path to Greece). Romney is the only one serious about trying to cut the deficit and debt. He’s the only one proposing drastic changes to government expenditures, and that’s the only way to achieve the goal of lowering our debt and deficit.
